On Land Skills Clinic- Route Planning

Join us for our third in a series of dry land workshops at the beautiful Mission Boathouse overlooking Beverly Harbor! In this workshop, we’ll talk about the two primary factors that go into trip planning for coastal paddling trips: Wind and Tide. We’ll explore how each will affect a proposed trip at different points along the route, and how to best strategize a route taking into account coastal topography, bathymetry, and group speed and experience.

Tying weather and tide apps in with the use of nautical charts, we’ll explore a range of scenarios and workshop best routes and contingency plans if conditions on the day end up different than the forecast.
